Game ready rubble piles in Blender & Unreal!
Have you ever needed to make a rubble pile for a game engine but always ended up with either too many polygons or too many drawcalls?
In this tutorial I'll show you how to make a high poly pile with multiple materials assigned and convert it to a low poly, game ready mesh with a single PBR texture set.
In the video, I'll use Megascans assets for the sake of time, however you can use your own assets just as easily!
(Basic knowledge of Blender & Unreal Engine is assumed, however I try to explain every step as best as I can)
You'll learn to:
- Create a high poly pile using particles & physics to simulate naturally falling rubble
- Use displacement for fine detail dirt/debris
- Make a low poly pile and bake a complete texture set including Albedo, roughness, metallic & normal maps
- Import your mesh into Unreal Engine with tips on how to blend it more naturally into your environment
